7/11 Barcrawl Bonus Chapter: Gay in Japan

Hi! Welcome back to 7/11 Barcrawl! This is a bonus post that has all my best tips and ideas for traveling in Japan as a gay traveler. There are bar recommendations, simple bar Japanese, and tips for safely clubbing, in addition to basic safety tips for gay travelers. I hope you enjoy! Please also feel free to shoot me a DM on Twitter if you have additional questions about traveling! I'm happy to answer and give any tips I can.

UPDATE: One thing I didn't know at the time that I drew this comic is that the ban on same sex marriage was just ruled as unconstitutional in Japan, on March 17, 2021! What wonderful news.

Travel Tips/Links:
- If you're looking for a hostel, we stayed at Anne Hostel in Asakusabashi. It was a great location, cheap, and the staff and guest were super nice. I can't recommend it enough!
- If you need an easy way to translate stuff on the fly, Jisho is really, really great and easy to use. If you want one that doesn't use your internet or phone battery, you can get a simple electronic dictionary (it's worth the money --it's so useful).
