Whew! I hope that was fun for y'all! As promised, I have a ton of links and recommendations here!
- I think I mention this in just about every post, but our hostel was Anne Hostel and I really recommend it (weird homophobic guests and all!). They were so accommodating and we made great friends there.
- I wrote up a post on my personal blog with all my best hostel tips that I learned while working at a hostel in downtown DC! If you wanna know more about what to do if you have trouble with other guests, I wrote some tips, so please check it out!
-If you wanna learn more about Akihabara, check out these links!
20 Things to Do in Akihabara (I guess this writer didn't have as many ideas)
- For thrifting, the store we went to was called Tampopo House, and it was absolutely incredible. I can't recommend it enough. Home Off is also good for clothes and home goods.
- For anime merch, there are sooo many places to find it in Akihabara that you really don't need me to point you toward any. However, the "Hobby Off" thrift stores are a great way to find cheap secondhand anime merchandise in Akihabara. Other than that, close your eyes and spin, point out a store, and go into that one - you'll find merch.
If you wanna know more about Don Quixote, the Japanese discount store, the story is actually quite interesting. A few links:
This YouTuber will take you on a tour so you can really get the energy.
If you wanna know about Love Live, here's a link to their website and a video of what the gameplay looks like! So fun. It's through an app, but you can play it at arcades in Japan, too!
Okay, that's all for now! I hope you enjoyed it. Please feel free to comment if you have any questions!
